AutoCAD Tutorial: Dimension Command

Introduction to Dimensioning Dimensioning is the process of adding annotations to a drawing. These annotations are used in the drawings to show the lengths of objects, distances between objects or angles between objects. Dimension also represents the radius of arcs and diameter of circles.

Systems of Dimensioning

  1. Unidirectional system
  2. Aligned system
  3. Baseline system
  4. Chain system
  5. ISO system

DIM and DIM1: The DIM and DIM1 commands put the command line in Dimensioning mode, wherein a special set of dimensioning commands replace most of AutoCAD commands.

QDIM: Qdim refers to quick dimension which allows you to have multiple dimensions in an instant.
